Hip Roof

The Hip Roof shed adds a unique touch that is a good match to the roof lines found on many modern homes. This roof style is available as a design option with our A-Frame, Garden, and Victorian models.

About Hip Roof Sheds

On rectangular buildings, a hip roof shed has a center ridge line; on square sheds the hip roof terminates in a perfect peak. All sides of the roof slope downward, with a continuous eave encircling the entire building. The symmetry of the roof line catches the eye, and gives your shed a unique look.

We’d recommend the Hip Roof option if you’re planning to use your shed as a playhouse or poolhouse. It also works well for a garden shed, workshop or studio. But perhaps the best feature of this roof style is its durability.

A hip roof shed may prove more durable in windy conditions thanks to its design. Wind forces on a roof tend to be upward forces. Because of the aerodynamic nature of the design, the effects of these forces are lessened, reducing wind damage risk (we’d like to note that this roof style is appropriate for any climate or property architecture thanks to its contemporary look).

Check out our other options, including siding, shingle, window, and shutter upgrades to further customize your shed.

We guarantee all of our sheds against manufacturer defect for up to five years, but your Hip Roof shed is designed to give you decades of trouble-free ownership.

Make It Yours

While the above specifications are standard across all of our structures, there are many opportunities to customize your Amish-built shed to ‘make it yours.’

  • For the roof, consider a dormer or cupola to give your outdoor building a unique look.
  • Opt for a cedar shake, ribbed metal or standing-seam metal roof to further customize its appearance.
  • We offer a plethora of siding options including beaded vinyl, HardiePlank, board-and-batten, and cedar shake.
  • Window options include insulated, wood sash, arched wood sash and transom windows.
  • Even the window shutters are customizable: choose from wood slat, vinyl raised panel or vinyl louvered options.
